Spread the word!
Angmering Arts and Articurl have organised Hello Day for July 15th. This is the day when Angmeringians are invited to take photos, from Sunrise to Sunset, of their lives in the village.

Photos can be taken in the allotments, you and friends enjoying a cup of tea, queuing for fish and chips - whatever you choose .....(within reason - please!)

We would like everyone to feel involved, and so disposable cameras will be available for you to use in some shops and places around the village (including Manor Nurseries). The cameras need to be returned to us so that we can develop the film ready for Celebration Day.

For those who wish to use their own cameras, could you bring the prints to the Community Centre from 1.00pm onwards for them to be displayed also. We will be having a display of archive photos from Neil Rogers-Davis, so that we will see Angmering Now and Then on exhibition.

So for a few minutes o f your time, you can help to create an historical archive for the village, During July 15th we will be in and around the village, wearing Hello Day t-shirts so that you know who to approach to borrow a camera.

Celebration Day is July 25 at the Community Centre when we will be participating in the Blooming Great Tea Party in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care and providing cakes and tea for donations.

Spread the word - come and join us - if you want to e-mail your photos or contact us articurl@hotmail.co.uk

Celebration Day - July 25th
In case it isn't clear from the Hello Day posting - Celebration Day is when all the photos will be on display, and when you can bring the prints of photos you have taken with your own camera after 1.00 at the Community Centre.

We will also be be 'doing' the Blooming Great Tea Party on that day - phew! hope it is clear.

Well Hello Day happened, thanks to all the shops, pubs, cafe, takeaway, fish and chip shop, hotel - everyone who agreed to have cameras, and allowed photos to be taken and took photographs. It has been a very interesting day. We talked to so many interesting people, who had such good ideas for their photos, and took the time to stop and share. We've had promises from villagers to take photos and send or bring them along on Celebration Day 25th July. Everyone old and young and middling joined in the challenge.

Thanks to Mark for the chips and tea - we had a wide range of weather to cope with - gale force winds, rain and a bit of cold - then the sun came out, and everyone cheered up and we stayed on the site until gone 6.30.

It was amazing to sit in the village square and experience the changes in the village throughout the day and to see the range of traffic going through. It was a delight to see the Youth Bus going through - wish they had had camera or that we knew where they were headed for!

So a big thank you - we have so many photos - Don't forget to come along and see them displayed and join in the Blooming Great Tea Party on Sunday 25th July.
