The allotments have a new very big fence now, but although it does look tidy, I do wonder if the people concerned have considered that this makes the path through there much more unattractive, unpleasant and likely to be more unsafe.
The allotment end of Honey Lane is now a place that is very closed in, with the potential for people to hang around getting up to no good where nobody can see them, and not therefore a particularly nice place for children to be walking home down once the nights draw in.
It was supposed to be being made a safer route to schools, but I know I am not the only person who feels that this fence makes it a less safe environment.
It used to be a place I enjoyed walking along with my children, admiring the plants and hard work, and now it's just horrible, and not at all pleasant.
What a shame.

Agree. The whole character of Honey Lane has changed for the worse.
I wonder why it was necessary to have such a high fence and a fence of the type that has been erected. Can anybody explain?
However, I bet less Brussel Sprouts go missing next Christmas! |
