Is it time for Angmering Parish Council to be seriously considering the preparation of the next Parish Plan?
The current Parish Plan was researched in 2002/3, and commenced in Autumn 2003. This Plan was intended to form the working strategy for the Parish Council for the following ten years, determining its priorities and financial commitments.
I fully appreciate there is a little way to go with the current Plan, but these things take time to consider, prepare, organise and conclude. The current Plan took a year to research and prepare to the point of printing and circulation of the document, commencement and implementation.
Much of the current Plan is now becoming dated, which inevitably results in current strategy being of a more ad hoc nature, rather than looking to achieve specific objectives, which is the main point of such a Plan.
It is unnecessary to wait for one document to be completely out of date before looking to freshen up objectives and strategy.
Now we have a full compliment of Parish Councillors and a new Clerk, is this coming year of 2010 the time to consider commencing such a new Plan, which is vital to all aspects of forward planning for the village?
