I see that Harriet Harman has today been fined £350 for driving without due care and attention. The charge of driving whilst using a mobile phone was dropped (of course) I do hope she will be able to claim the £350 on her expenses. I would hate the poor dear to be out of pocket. |

I don't agree with this type of language or phraseology being used on this website, whatever one's political view. |

Oh sorry if it offends one. Some of us couldn't afford to go to Eton Or Oxford. (scumbag)This word was used by President Clinton to refer to a reporter who published a negative article about him. if it's good enough for the former President of the U.S then it's good enough for me... |

I'm sure President Clinton has used many other words or phrases to describe individuals or situations, but that does not make them printable. |

Angmeringite. I'm not sure what point you are attempting to make.
This subject is MP's expenses.
So far, the three to have been prosecuted and convicted in the criminal courts, in relation to their MP's expenses are:-
David Chaytor. Labour Eric Illsley. Labour Jim Devine. Labour
What words do you have to describe them? |

David Cameron David who? His leadership of the Conservative party hit a low ebb before the 2007 party conference, but he reasserted his authority with an impressive off-the-cuff leader's speech. He certainly prioritises working hard on the art of oratory: £10.99 was charged on expenses for the purchase of a Penguin book on historic speeches
George Osborne The chancellor, we hope, is good with money, and made sure this was the case by taking advice from himself. The purchase of two DVDs of his comments to the Commons on getting value for taxpayers' money was, in its own way, perhaps the most absurd claim of all

Angmeringite, yes,...... "so far."
The one remaining individual to appear in the criminal courts soon, in respect of MP's expenses, is Elliot Morley.
He is the one, the allegation of which, is that he continued to claim expenses for a mortgage that had already been paid off.
He was not only a Labour MP, he was a Minister in the last Labour Government.

Are you really trying to say that it was only labour mp's on the fiddle?
Because everybody cans clearly see it was all parties noses in the trough.
My point is that the ConDem's Are now in power and they have decided to relax the rules to give themselves (all Mp's) more money...
funny how you complain when i call tories Scumbags but say nothing when i say the same about labour Mp's Just change the subject when it doesn't suit you i suppose....

Angmeringite. No, I'm not changing the subject. The subject is MP's expenses. A subject, initiated by you.
We are getting to the conclusion of MP's expenses now, and after a thorough criminal investigation, four have been prosecuted for offences under the Theft Act, and I'm reminding you that these four, three of whom have already been convicted, the other trial is due soon, were all Labour MP's. |

Yes Bert i think i got that the other 3-4 times you said it.... And what about all the cheating Mp's who had to repay for making claims they clearly knew they shouldn't be making? They just get away with it do they? Really tells us something about our political establishment doesn't it. So you really think it's nearly over? or is it about to start again??? I think they are Mostly all in their for their own gain and have no real interest in serving the public. As they showed yesterday when some of them were still trying to get a pay rise whilst everyone else in public services are having cuts or at least pay freezes which amounts to the same thing really.. |

I'm sure you know the reply to this one.
The subject is MP's expenses. Your subject.
This bloke, for whom I have no time at all, was a Member of the European Parliament, and has not been prosecuted in the criminal courts. He was not an MP. |

The recent introduction of a watchdog to control their expenses has been neutered by the prime minister & they are now free to get their snouts back in the trough showing that MPs never learned the lesson at all & have even more contempt for the public they pretend to serve. Orwell's quote from Animal Farm seems more & more apt - "All animals are created equal but some are more equal than others." |
