Dear all, As a parent representative of the Anti-Dog Fouling Initative with St Wilfrids School, may I please bring to your attention the related NEWS ITEM on this website.
It sets out the details of the initiative which we hope will roll out over Easter. We would greatly appreciate your feedback on its effectiveness and please do alert us via this thread of any hotspots you feel may benefit from a poster.
I'm sure as villagers we will all benefit from the childrens efforts and hopefully re-educate the offending minority. Many thanks! |

Dear all,
Thanks to everyone who has viewed this thread. Here is an update of the initiative so far:
Well done to the Children of St Wilfrid’s for completing their colourful and imaginative designs. Thanks to Mrs Emery's leadership there where over 60 posters designed by the children. A big thank you to them all!
Some of the catch phrases were great, here are a few for you to enjoy:
"Keep Calm and Pick up Poo" "Don’t be Mean Keep it Clean" "Dog MUCK is YUCK!" "Its not a ZOO pick up your POO!" "Britain NEEDS YOU to pick up your POO"
All brilliant with eye catching designs as well.
We are working with the Arun Dog Warden and Arun Highways as we speak too get the posters printed and laminated so we have them up on the lamp-posts over Easter.
Here’s where you come in. We would be grateful for any sites you think have a dog fouling problem, let us know on this thread so we can get the most effective distribution of the posters.
Many thanks!

The Thatchway has fallen foul (no pun intended) of thoughtless dog owners who do not clear up after their hounds! A poster at the end of the twitten from Rectory Lane into The Thatchway and another by the stile would be appreciated. There is a dog bin close to the stile, too, but it would appear that some dog owners just don't bother to use it. |

Love those catchphrases, well done to all the children involved! We would love to see some of the posters on the green around the Community Centre and also Honey Lane and the alley that runs to it from Bramley Green (both areas well known for a few selfish pooey dog owners!) |

Dear all,
The posters are all but up now. There are just a few areas left to cover. Keep a look out for them on your travels around the village and please do let us know via this thread if you have seen any improvement (or not) in the dog fouling problem. Please feel free to let us know of any areas you think can benefit from a poster.
Unfortunately in only 12 hours we have already seen four disappear from Arundel Rd. This is very disappointing given the effort of the St Wilfrids children in making the posters and their eagerness to see their work have a positive effect. The missing ones have been taken from outside the Vets practice, Fletchers Fields and two from outside St Wilfrids school. I would like to reiterate that this campaign is NOT an attack on dog owners. We are simply trying to create a greater awareness of the impact that dog fouling has on our community particularly our school children. |

"Scoop The Poop ... You Know Your Wrong" Perhaps it was the Grammar Police wot was offended and removed the posters. |

The sign on Bramley Green was there today but both the ones in Honey Lsne were gone. Such a shame that small minded people could bother to remove them. I think the signs are great and brighten up the village with an important message. |
