Hello All. As you know the Asda within Ferring is now open and I found out there are five bus routes, from the A1 to the A5 bus service but none of these go into Angmering, not even Angmering Green.
So I wonder how I would go about getting a free bus to come to Angmering even if it was only once a week, I am sure Asda Ferring would be more then willing if we can prove to them people would use it. It would only be once a week if we could get anything I would guess.
So heres my Question, Who would be up for helping me out with ideas on making this happen? I am not sure where to start really, If I go and speak to the Manger in Asda itself or I get some names togehter and some route ideas for the bus then go and speak to them. post ideas here! |

Why not just get your shopping in the Angmering Co Op . It's cheaper than Asda and a lot less hassle ( better to support small local shops before Asda wipe them all out ) |

I'm astonished, that ASDA think the residents of places like Billingshurst and Pulborough are going to come all the way down to Ferring to do some shopping.
It'll still be Sainsbury's and the Angmering shops for us. |

Co-op a smaller store and does not stock everything I need, its ok going in there for a few bits but If I wanted set things co-op would not work, Even so, Why have we not got a free asda bus? We got one going to tesco's once a week. |

Just seen (10.57am) an ASDA A6 bus going north along Station Road toward the village centre!
Will have to make some enquiries about this. |

Phoned ASDA but they did not know anything about an A6 ASDA bus and suggested I should phone Compass who operate buses for them.
Compass confirmed that they yesterday established an A6 ASDA bus that runs every day from Monday to Sunday. This service serves Wick, Littlehampton, Rustington, East Preston, Angmering.
Full timetable can be seen at http://www.compass-travel.co.uk/timetables/service_a6.html
However, for Angmering residents, daily timetable is as follows:
Departs: Chantryfield Road 10.43 Arrives ASDA: 10.49 Departs ASDA: 12.40 Arrives: Chantryfield Road 12.46 |

The A6 bus I saw must have been running about 15 minutes late! Was that as a result of delays on the A259 caused by shoppers going to ASDA. |

Rob have you now found out where the bus stops? I'm thinking of using it for the first time tomorrow so would also be interested to know. |

I've just talked to Compass who state that the free A6 (and all other ASDA buses) will stop on request at ANY bus stop along its designated route and just not at Chantryfield Road. So, stick your hand out at any bus stop along the No. 9 route in the village.
Dependant upon where you get on, the A6 will arrive a minute or two before or after the time advertised for Chantryfield Road.
The helpful lady at Compass said that ASDA will be reviewing all routes after Christmas. It's a pity that ASDA could not have made it clear from the outset that their buses would stop at any Stagecoach/Compass bus stop along a designated route. |

At least Asda stick to their advertised offers - my wife has just gone into Co-Op for an advertised offer on a mailing dropped through the door - offer apparently only applies at Co-Op Rustington - not in the village - and village Co-Op were not interested in matching the offer - good way to maintain business |

I think you will find that the Co-op in Angmering is a different company to the one in Rustington, albeit under the same Co-op umbrella. I do agree however, that if they are going to send round such mail drops in Angmering, it is rather silly and confusing. |

Just been to Asda and picked up a leaflet saying that due to lack of use all the free bus services to the store will stop. The last day the buses will run is Sunday 19th May. |

Thanks Rosebud. I've now deleted the ASDA bus service from my Transport page. |

Does that just apply to Angmering? How about Rustington too? |

I think it applies to all the Asda free bus services Chikab. I have seen the 700 bus go in there on it's way back from Worthing. Pity the number 9 doesn't appear to stop there. |
