Voluntary group, Angmering in Bloom, have worked in partnership with Angmering Grange Care Home, a new residential, dementia and nursing home soon to be opened in Roundstone Lane. Together they have arranged for four cherry trees to be planted by West Sussex County Council and planted 400 daffodils themselves on the junction of Nursery Road and Roundstone Lane to brighten up the local area.
Volunteer, Judith Cross from Angmering in Bloom said: "Whilst we have a number of very supportive local sponsors our funds will only spread so far so when Angmering Grange Care Home began to build within the village we were thrilled to receive such a positive response from their team when we suggested we work together to plant some much-needed trees in the vicinity. After a number of meetings at possible sites we agreed on a site within view of The Grange in Roundstone Lane and Nursery Road where we already have two large flowering beds which we felt would benefit considerably by the addition of some trees. Angmering Grange very kindly agreed to fund the cost and planting of the four Cherry trees with Angmering in Bloom planting 400 daffodil bulbs surrounding the trees."

The annual December Christmas evening event will be held again, but with some differences this year. It will be held on Friday 2 December in the Square from 6.00pm onwards. It will be also be combined with the hanging of memory tags - obtainable from many village shops - on the Christmas tree on the Green in the Square and carol singing which previously has taken place on a different day.
Most of the shops around the Square will be open and will be putting on festive activities from face-painting and lucky dips to seasonal food offerings. Have fun at the Fun Fair with all the rides and side shows, plus popcorn and candy floss - all free of charge. Also, visit Santa in his Grotto, kindly organised by Empire Environmental.
Hot Roasted Chestnuts, non-alcoholic wine, courtesy of The Lamb pub, and sweet and savoury dough balls, courtesy of The Stone Room, will also be available. The Angmering School and Cancer United choirs will also be singing Christmas songs throughout the event. There will be charity collection boxes around the Square on behalf of Cancer United, an Angmering-based charity. Further, a mini-Christmas market will also be taking place providing lots of ideas for Christmas presents or perhaps something with which to treat yourself.
Finally please note, as in previous years, to make the event safe for everyone, the Parish Council are closing all roads into the Square to vehicular traffic between 4.00pm and 9.30pm.
This year's event promises to be one of the best yet and it is hoped that it will be well supported by villagers. It is also hoped that new residents, especially from all the new developments, will come along to experience a fantastic evening.
Proposed Boundary Charges - It has been proposed by the boundary commission that Angmering & Findon move from the Arundel & South Downs Constituency to the West Worthing one. This means that we will cover 2/3rds of the geography of the new constituency 85% which is in the National Park, with only 10% of the electorate. Everyone present agreed that they did not want this to happen and that the Chair and the Clerk would compose a response and will circulate to all councillors for comment. Action: Response to be composed, agreed and sent out. APC will also be meeting Andrew Griffith MP on Friday 18 November 2022 where this will be discussed.
Community Land Trust - The Chair reported that the ACLT had taken the decision to mothball the site in Mayflower Way until it is possible to continue. Increasing costs were cited as the reason for this.

The Angmering Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Awards were presented on Saturday 12th November by HM Lord Lieutenant of West Sussex, Lady Emma Barnard. The lucky recipients were three outstanding young people representing each of the village's schools.
The awards were in recognition of their nomination by their school to become Honorary Flag-master for the day during the Jubilee Flag celebrations in Angmering and the exemplary way they performed their duties.
Kai Oliver-Page | Charlie Rowsell-Adams | Emily Lambert |
First to make his mark on this time of national historic importance was Kai Oliver-Page, a student at The Angmering School raising the Jubilee Flag on 2nd May to launch festivities.
Next came Charlie Rowsell-Adams, a year 6 pupil from St. Margaret's Primary School. He had what turns out to have been the privilege, on his own birthday, of raising the Union Flag to recognise Queen Elizabeth's final Birthday Parade at The Trooping of the Colour on Thursday 2nd June.
Finally came Emily Lambert of St. Wilfrid's R.C. Primary School who, at just 7 years old, stole the show on Sunday 5th June raising the Jubilee Flag once more as the sun set on what had been an eventful week all around the village.
Each received an illustrated copy of 'The Platinum Queen' recording all our late monarch's Christmas broadcasts, in a presentation sleeve and signed not only by each of the Lords Lieutenant to have held post during this Jubilee year, Dame Susan Pyper and Lady Emma Barnard, but also by the Earl Marshal of England, Edward, 18th Duke of Norfolk.
