An Angmering woman is raising money for Chestnut Tree House children's hospice by walking 2.6 miles a day around Angmering for 10 days as part of the Coronavirus 2.6 Challenge, wearing a different balloon costume each day that she has created. Justine Clapham has already raised more than £1000 for the Angmering-based charity which is in urgent need of funds during this Coronavirus pandemic.
Justine's first creation for the 2.6 Challenge was a 12ft high dog suit consisting of some 300 balloons (see photo - right). Other balloon suits she has made to date include an ostrich, a lobster, Mr Tickle, and St George riding a dragon. The dog suit alone took 10 hours to construct.
Justine has been visiting various parts of the village this week, including Bramley Green, but walking in some of her suits over a 2.6 mile route has been extremely challenging in the wet and windy conditions we have been experiencing in the last few days.
She has been making balloon creations since she was a child and in March 2019 started her own business, JJ Balloon Art. You can read more about Justine's business and see other wonderful creations on her Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/JJBalloonArt/

We are sad to learn of the death of Fr David Rea, the recently retired priest for the combined Catholic parish of East Preston and Angmering. Fr David, 82, who passed away on 17 March, was a much loved and respected priest at Our Lady Star of the Sea in East Preston. He retired in September 2019 having spent 23 years as the parish priest.
Fr David was born in the Irish Republic and had served as an assistant priest in Littlehampton, Eastbourne, Brighton and Burgess Hill before being appointed as parish priest at Our Lady Star of the Sea in 1996, following a serious heart attack and triple heart bypass. He had a great love of sport, particularly rugby, and had a ready sense of humour. He will especially be remembered at St Wilfrid's RC School in Angmering where he played a large part in its development over the years.
The funeral mass was celebrated by Bishop Richard Moth last Tuesday, at St Mary of the Angels Church in Worthing which parishioners were unable to attend due to the coronavirus social distancing requirements. Deacon Allan Veness, presently in charge at the Church said: "Later in the year, we hope to celebrate and give thanks for his 23 years in our midst, together with family members from Ireland who were prevented from travelling to the UK during this difficult period."
Green Waste Club writes:"Dear Green Waste Customer, Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are currently suffering from staff shortages. On that basis, we regret to inform you, that your scheduled garden waste collection next week (Monday 6th April) will not be completed. Our current plan is that your future collections will go ahead as scheduled, starting in a fortnights time Monday 20th April 2020." It is imagined that people having collections other than Mondays will also be affected.

Action Fraud UK report that most current frauds are related to online shopping scams where people have ordered protective face masks, hand sanitiser and other products, which have never arrived. Some of the tactics being used in phishing emails include:
- Fraudsters purporting to be from a research group that mimics the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organisation (WHO). They claim to provide the victim with a list of active infections in their area, but to access this information the victim needs to either click on a link which redirects them to a credential-stealing page or make a donation of support in the form of a payment into a Bitcoin account
- Fraudsters providing articles about the virus outbreak with a link to a fake company website where victims are encouraged to click to subscribe to a daily newsletter for further updates
- Fraudsters sending investment scheme and trading advice encouraging people to take advantage of the coronavirus downturn
- Fraudsters purporting to be from HMRC offering a tax refund and directing victims to a fake website to harvest their personal and financial details. The emails often display the HMRC logo making it look reasonably genuine and convincing
Stay safe and don't fall victim to coronavirus fraudsters - if you have been victim to fraud, or for further advice, you can report fraud to Action Fraud UK
