There are many groups of volunteers within the parish that support specific causes about which they feel strongly. There are however a number of organisations, such as the parish council, that need volunteers to provide their energy and time for specific events or actions and it would like to hear from anybody that would be prepared to give their time as and when necessary by forming an Angmering Village Volunteer Bank (AVVB).
If you would be interested in registering for the scheme, please contact Angmering Parish Council and they will take names and numbers of those interested. Once they know that there is going to be some interest, both from volunteers ad organisations, a formal system will be set up and the scheme will be up and running. The Parish Council is currently looking for volunteers to help with:
If you want to volunteer for any of these please contact the Parisg Council office on 01903 772124 (9am-1pm) or Email admin@angmering-pc.gov.uk

Supporting the Community - Starting this year, the traders want to make their Christmas night even more for supporting the local community. They will be donating at least 50% of the overall profit for the evening to a good or worthwhile cause/causes and they are asking that you nominate who you think deserves to receive this. (The Traders need to carry over a percentage, depending on the overall profit, to go towards costs for next years' evening). There are no complicated forms to complete, all they ask is for you to make a short note saying who you wish to nominate and why. Anything large that may qualify for an external grant or be made available by other means will not qualify. Also groups and organisations will not qualify. This is purely for an individual who must have been a resident of the village for at least the last 2 years. The Traders will look at any genuine request and you can even nominate yourself.
All nominations need to be placed into a sealed envelope and marked "Nomination for traders" and then handed in to any of the shops by the Christmas Traders' Night - 6th December. Please don't forget to include name, address and contact number of both yourself and the person you are nominating. There is a maximum value to be requested which is £300. Awards will be made to as many people as needed to spend the total allocation determined by the evening. The shops are ready to receive your nominations from now. They will be opened together by the traders at a special meeting and a final decision will be made by 6th January, 2018.
