The South East British Tapestry Group is returning to Angmering for its 3rd biennial Exhibition of new contemporary woven tapestries. This will again be held at The Mill House Gallery, Ecclesden Lane, Angmering between Friday 25th March to Sunday 3rd April (10.30pm to 4.30pm daily).
Standing on the side of Highdown Hill, The Mill House Gallery proved a magnificent venue for the highly successful first two exhibitions in 2012 and 2014, the last one having over 550 visitors. This year the theme of the exhibits is SYMBIOSIS - the relationship between two types of organisms in which each provides for the other the conditions necessary for its continued existence. Each weaver has offered their personal interpretation in their own approach to tapestry weaving, resulting in a diverse and inventive collection of work.
Facilities at The Mill House Gallery for the duration of the exhibition include:
- - A shop selling weaving supplies provided by weaversbazaar - sponsors of the event
- - Other textile related stalls
- - Refreshments
- - Demonstrations
- - Small weavings - most for sale - inspired by a day at the seaside.
- - Opportunities to meet and talk to the weavers
Many of the exhibits will be available for purchase. Please note that due to the unusual nature of the Gallery there is no access for wheelchairs and several floors of exhibits will be accessible by stairs only.
For press invitations to the Private View (sponsored by Myrtleart www.weaversbazaar.com/tapestries) or other enquiries please contact Lin Squires on 0780 160 7286 or by email lin@weaversbazaar.com.
