The Draft Community Led Neighbourhood Plan has today been released by the Plan's Steering Group for comment by Angmering residents. A 6 weeks consultation period will now take place between 30 April and 11 June after which the Steering Group will review all comments and amend the Draft Plan if necessary. It will then be examimed by Arun District Council with a view to holding a referendum by Angmering residents in December 2014.
There are various ways in which residents can now view the Draft Plan. The main Plan (but not Appendices) can be viewed via the Angmering Parish Council website (click here to view). Paper copies of the Plan for those who do not have access to the internet will be available in most public buildings, including: the Parish Council Office, Village Hall, Community Centre, ASRA, Angmering Club, and the Library.
A leaflet (view) is in the process of being distributed to
every household in the parish describing the purpose of the Plan and the
approval process. Residents are urged to take the time to read the Plan as it
is really important for the future of the parish of Angmering for the next 15
years.
Arun District Council have this week given notice that the following Planning Applications will be determined at a Special Development Control Committee Meeting at 1.00pm on Thursday 8 May 2014 in The Millenium Chamber, Manor House, Littlehampton Town Council, Church Street, Littlehampton (Note: not Arun District Council Offices):
Those wishing to speak at the Meeting must formally register their wish to speak by no later than 5.00 pm on 7 May by phoning the Planning Department on 01903-737512.
It is noted that Arun District Council intend to determine Planning Application A/135/12 before the final time for submission of comments by the public (closure 5.00pm on 8 May). The arrangement of this meeting also presupposes that Arun's full Council will vote for their Local Plan Sub-Committee's recommendation for inclusion of 600+ new houses in Angmering when they meet on 30 April. How's that for confidence that the non-elected planning officers will get their own way!

Angmering In Bloom's Easter Fayre at The Pigeon House on Saturday 12 April proved most successful, raising over £400 towards the Association's projects. On a bright Saturday afternoon, about 150 people went along to the event and enjoyed the varied craft stalls, a delicious looking cake stall, a varied selection of plants for sale, a tombola, and refreshments. There were thirteen Craft Stalls selling such diverse items as glass wear, knitted goods, cards, tealights, cake stands, and soaps.
