| At the meeting of ADC's LOcal Plan Sub-Committee this evening, the housing number requirement was reduced from 560 to 425. A small victory, necessitating a re-writing of the Local Plan, but still a long way to go. |

| We now understand that the full ADC Council meeting on 29th May to consider the Local Plan, which we assumed would be postponed following the meeting last week which amended housing numbers, will in fact still take place. Further details to follow. |

Information forthcoming from a number of sources suggest that the Planners at ADC, no doubt irritated by the decision reached at the recent Local Plan Sub-Committee meeting to reduce housing numbers (560- 455), which would have required a re-write of the plan, have been lobbying Councillors to reverse their recommendation and uphold the previous number.
So, the meeting on the 29th will demonstrate whether the Councillors concerned have the backbone to tell the Planners where to go. Should be interesting.
Meeting is at 6 pm in the Council Chamber at the ADC offices, Maltravers Road, Littlehampton. Attend if you can. |
