APC may also want to remind the builder of the duty of care Barratt's vehicles and their drivers have towards the community. I was driving down Roundstone Lane (5th Jan 2105) from the north, approaching the Rugby club entrance when a contractors vehicle (an 8 x 4 aggregates lorry) exited the Club at a speed that was down right dangerous.

I noted the vehicle registration and time of the incident (0845), and wrote to the Barratt's contracts manager who simply replied "Thank you for your comments which are noted ......"

Thank you for your posting and for copying us in to your e-mail correspondence with the site manager regarding the incident in question.

We have passed both the e-mail describing the incident, and the photograph of the vehicle in question that accompanied it, to Sussex Police to be dealt with as appropriate under Operation Crackdown which, you may recall, is Sussex Police’s ongoing campaign against anti-social driving.

We would suggest to all residents that all instances of anti-social driving anywhere in the village are reported directly to Operation Crackdown, either via the website www.operationcrackdown.org, or by calling 101. Naturally we are happy to assist residents with reporting anti-social driving if they wish, and would ask that they contact the Parish Office directly as needed.
