Can anyone tell me if old farm place is a private road? I walked down there a couple of weekends ago to see what was there and was quite forcefully (and rudely) ushered back towards the public footpath. I know there is no public right of way though the farm and out the other side towards polling or hammerpot but I was unaware the road itself was private. Can anyone enlighten me?
Rectory Lane is a private road so I guess the continuation of the road to Old Place Farm is private as well.
Of course, there is a public footpath over part of the road (i.e. from The Thatchway to Arundel Road).
Notwithstanding that, as will be seen from the Traders' Directory on this site, there are at least three businesses operating from Units at Old Place Farm.
Thanks for the info Neil. I'll be sure to stick to the footpath, unless I happen to be visiting one of the businesses down there of course, which is pretty unlikely now!
