Why do the schoolkids feel they are exempt from using the footbridge, or do they just see it as a piece of modern art??? There must have been about 20 of them waiting to cross the road, and just stepping out in front of the cars this morning. Of course if one of them got hurt, it wouldn't be their fault.
If anyone connected to the school is on here, maybe they could remind the children the footbridge is there for a reason! |

Last autumn I was in a line of moving cars going east which were forced to stop by a crowd of kids who barged over the A259 with the empty walkway overhead. Roads were very wet, traffic was heavy and it was dangerous.
I rang the school, asked for the Head Teacher and told a Secretary there was a near miss - children and drivers. She assured me that children are told to always use the footbridge and said a senior person would go over and watch for the culprits. I suspect the message needs to be given again. |
