Derekdainton - apologies again for the delay in replying.
As discussed at the Parish Council last Monday, the answer to this question must be that the Parish Council and individual councillors must not be seen to be either pro or anti any application before it is received. Any formal response will, of course, take into account views expressed by the general public. Responses to planning applications have to be made on the strict basis of what is relevant in planning terms or they will not be taken into account, and this is relevant for those made by members of the public as much as the Parish Council. It is therefore important for the Parish Council to be seen, if it wants its eventual observations to be taken into account, to retain a balanced position at this stage, otherwise it will compromise its ability to truly represent the electorate when this is necessary. Thank you |
