Since the Community Centre opened in 2009, the main hall has had a reputation for poor acoustics which have prevented some activities from operating there.
However, about 2 months' ago, acoustic panels were fitted to the walls and roof of the hall, and curtains are currently being fitted in addition to the existing vertical blinds.
The transition is now significant. At a free trial film show for Centre users last night (showing "Bridesmaids") nobody had a problem with the sound which was extremely good. Last year, it was impossible to hear much of the dialogue of a film.
In view of the success of last night's trial, the Angmering Community Centre will start showing monthly films again. So watch the AVL News page for announcements of the next film to be shown (possibly in February). |
