A number of people will have enjoyed tea, cake or a light lunch at The Lighthouse in Clapham village just down the road and would have been sorry to have seen it close down 3 months' ago. This was a lovely facility for Clapham villagers, for cyclists or walkers, or other local people who just wanted to drive out a couple of miles and sit on the veranda (or inside) with a drink and enjoy the small village atmosphere.
Well, I'm very pleased to say that the café/store officially re-opened on Monday as "The Junction @ Clapham". It's been bought by Neil (not me!) and Mark from Angmering, who we know, and when my wife and I went in there today, it was great to see the rapport that they had already built up with villagers after just a few days.
The food and refreshments are very reasonably priced - we had some really moist cakes (bang goes the diet!) and an excellent pot of tea.
On a mild day, sit in one of their new rocking chairs on the veranda or inside on armchairs or at tables.
They will be increasing their range of food/refreshments in the next few weeks as they start building up the business. Do go and support them if you've got a bit of spare time. |

This sounds excellent.
If its the Mark & Neil that I know, they have to be two of the nicest guys I have ever met.
I wish them every success.
Any details of opening times etc please??

Thanks for that Neil.
I can see I am going to have to find a way of sneaking out of work during the day to pop over there, otherwise I will have to wait until next summer to catch them open on a Sunday.
Really hope they do well there |
