Just wanted a check of peoples broadband speeds in the village.
I've just had BT's (8 meg??) total broadband fitted and I'm struggling to get above 300k (consistently over 3 days) I also have a bad hiss on the line when making calls (any BT engineers in the village?)

I am getting 7650kbs from BT and suggest you call them out.We did when we were down to 250kbs and it took three visits to be resolved.

We've got an engineer coming tomorrow, but don't hold out a great deal of hope, since as the last tenants of the property before we bought it said they had engineers out and had always had a dodgy connection |

We had the engineer out, who spent a good couple of hours tracing a noisy line, finally narrowed it down to some rusty connections in the green box down the street, immediately after the repair, we have a totally clear phone line, and 7 meg download speed. |

How's everyone's broadband speeds at the mo? I have been consistently getting 5.9Mbps but in the last week it's dropped to 3.9Mbps. I'm with Plus.net on Bramley Green. |

Still down at 3.6Mbps... :(
Although I said I'd never go back to Sky, their Broadband, TV & phone package looks pretty attractive right now, well it is with the £100 M&S vouchers (expires tomorrow)
Has anyone had any dealings with Sky, in terms of phone and broadband? What kind of broadband speeds are you getting?
Thanks in advance.. |

If your with BT now, I wouldn't expect much more from sky, as it uses the BT network to provide its broadband anyway |

talk talk came round last week and said they have put fibreoptic cables in the area and can offer up to 3 times the speed we can get from bt or sky... has anyone actually signed up and found their claim to be true? |
